Industrial sewing thread

2009/12/30

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The industrial sewing thread can be used to sew clothing, including a large proportion of cellulose fibers and can be colored with a tinge of cellulose. Many companies, cotton, embroidery, and pre-wound bobbins for sewing machines and quilting all wholesale price.

Using industrial sewing threads, we have more advantages because of falls and fractures increases productivity. Therefore, it is used for quilts,Embroidery and sewing as for commercial and home machines every day. A sewing thread is composed of 70 to 95 percent by weight of lyocell fiber and 5 to 30 percent by weight of at least one synthetic fibers such as polyester or nylon.

The industrial sewing thread may be plastic, cotton, silk, or produced from a combination of these fibers. While the fabrics, threads are often treated with finishes to give special qualities and improve thePerformance. The polyester is by far the most popular for sewing in general. It is a strong economic theme. Polyester thread will not fade or shrink during washing. Cotton yarns are bright, smooth and have little or no effect. Do not use cotton thread for hand sewing machines or natural fabrics.

The tensile strength of cotton yarn is often not as high as it should. This is true even mercerized cotton yarns that are stronger than truthunmercerised cotton. Therefore, we know, the thread of a mixture of cotton and synthetic fibers such as polyester or nylon, which is made stronger than cotton. In any case, most textile companies to use the best quality.

Janome 7330 Sewing Machine

2009/12/27

Janome 7330 Sewing Machine Review

5.0 from 5

I am a first time sewer and I wanted a solid machine below 0. I wanted something I could grow into, but something that wouldn't overwhelm me. I had gone online to research machines. I was actually considering the Brother CS6000I before I had even heard of the Janome 7330. At the time there were 97 reviews on Amazon for the Brother CS6000I and I read every one. I was concerned b/c the low rated Brother reviews and even many of the 4 and 5 star reviews complained about the machine's tension and a finicky bobbin. The last thing I wanted to deal with was a touchy machine. If you read the reviews, without looking at the stars, most of them talk about the machine's quirks. I started to wonder if the Brother was trying to be too far reaching for it's price point. I was also wondering why so many were willing to overlook this touchiness that they all mentioned.

I went to SewVacDirect.com and did an online "ask a consultant" thing. I asked the person about the Brother CS6000I and the person directed me to the Janome. I had never heard of Janome before, but the consultant said that the Janome was far more sturdy than the Brother and that it was very easy to use. Still unsure, I decided to go to a store to see the machines in person.

After seeing the Janome and the Brother in action, I came home with the Janome 7330. After seeing the two machines work, I did feel that the Janome was better made and more sturdy. I felt more confident in the Janome's ability to grow with me through the years and felt it was more of the work horse that I was looking for. Twenty minutes after opening the box I was sewing. I'd never touched a machine before and I was sewing! It was as easy to use as they had told me. No weird finicky tricks to learn; just a solid machine.

The 7330 is computerized. It has a good number of stitches, including 5 different overcast stitches, three different one-step button holes, a darning stitch, and good number of decorative stitches. It has a free arm that has been great for doing the small arm and leg holes on the children's clothing I've been making. It has a foot pedal, although you can also use it sans the pedal. It has an up/down button that "remembers" if you last made the needle stay down when you stopped stitching. It also has a reverse button and an automatic needle threader. It's very easy to wind the bobbin and you just pop open the little lid and drop it in the hole. Super easy!

The instruction manual is very easy to follow and it comes with an all purpose presser foot, a satin foot (great for sewing on buttons!), a button foot, and a zipper foot. It also comes with a seam ripper, some bobbins, a brush for cleaning, a screw driver, and some plastic rings that hold the spool of thread in place.

When I told my friends that I had purchased a Janome, all of them said it was a very good brand. I found out that is a Japanese company and Janome means "eye of the snake" as it was one of the pioneers of using a round bobbin instead of a long shuttle back in the 1920's. Janome was the first to make a computerized sewing machine in the 1970's. I'm including this information b/c if you've never heard of this brand before, it's not a fly by night. It's been around for awhile and it has a very good reputation with those who know it. I also found that Janome sponsors a DIY website, threadbanger.com, which has some really neat ways to be green by reusing, recycling, and reconstructing things.

In conclusion, go to a retailer and see for yourself. It's a solid machine!!

Adding interest, cross-stitch

2009/12/24

Contrary to popular opinion may be interesting to cross stitch. Cross stitch can also be of interest to a room in several ways. One possibility is that the elements found in a detailed cross-stitch pattern and place of these repeat elements in space. Another option is to create part of a room, like a model search. Finally, a third option, a picture, made a cross stitch pattern, and then convert the screen image and cross over.

OneSo you can add interest to a room for a pattern you like. Once there is a cross-stitch pattern you want to find a series of smaller images in the pattern, cross stitch each image is a separate piece. There are two ways to treat these as individual pieces. One option is to staple each piece frame and the frame around the original cross hanging pattern. For example, in a pattern that has different flowers each flower can be cross stitched and framedindividually. The second option is the individual pieces, as decorative pieces for use as pillows, cushions, bags, miniature cord or carpet as well. For example, if the employer has multiple expressions or phrases to each phrase or sentence could be cross-stitched pillow on your own pillow and placed on chairs in the room with the original design. For both options, the room more interesting, because people look around to find out, placed on the small images. Make itand to see a game of guessing who is right, there are many small images in the room!

A second way is the interest, add your favorite design firms and repeat it in real life. For example, if the design is covered with a white sheet on a wooden rocker, then select an area and put a white sheet on a wooden rocker. Next, cross stitch, this design, the frame and placed in the same room as the rocking chair and a blanket. The design does not have to be complicated, it cansomething as simple as a flower. If the design is simple and small, do not forget, until the cross-over point design place next to real life object. To add even more interest to repeat this idea of several small designs in the same room or around your home. Have fun decorating!

A third way is a more interesting image in order to have become a model for cross stitch. There are several companies offering this service, or you can buy the software and create their own patterns. Iffinished cross stitch, frame and hang the finished piece next to the actual image. A good quality samples, the cross stitch look exactly like your picture. On the other hand, is an easy way to talk to people!

I hope these ideas have found interesting and useful. Help not only to make a room more interesting, but also the incoming chat.

Bobbin Play With Bonnie DVD Review

3.5 from 5

I was unsure of how to get started doing free motion embroidery. I'd heard that using the bobbin for heavier, more interesting threads was the way to go. But I had no idea how to really make it work. This DVD was enlightening. It also has good info on supplies, machine setup, using decorative stitches, and going "digital" (if you have that sort of machine). I found this DVD very helpful for my needs, even though I only have a couple of vintage (1930's and 1960's) Singer sewing machines. Of course, if you have a fancy newer Bernina or other such sewing machine, you'll likely love it too.

Brother PC-210 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine

2009/12/21

Brother PC-210 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine Review

4.5 from 5

I bought this machine a couple of weeks ago. It is an upgrade for me from a VERY basic Brother machine. I bought mine at a sewing machine store; actually cheaper than Amazon and I get their expertise/service.

One major feature I was looking for in my new machine is speed control. I am teaching my daughter to sew; this machine can be set to sew very very ssssslllloooww. Great when trying to teach a nine year old. Threading is pretty simple; there is a nifty automatic needle threader. I'm using it but threading a machine needle was never a big deal for me. I also like the automatic needle up feature. On every machine I ever used previously, I had to turn the wheel when done sewing a line to raise the needle. This machine does it automatically.

This Brother makes a very nice buttonhole; not as nice perhaps as a machine twice its price but still, just fine. It has this neat buttonhole foot in which you put your desired button in the back and it uses that button to automatically make the proper sized buttonhole. All in one step. This is WAY better than my old machine.

The bobbin is a top-drop-in. No more bringing up the loop, just put in in and sew.

One feature I've yet to use is a front stop/go control button. I guess that if you didn't want to or couldn't use a foot pedal you could use this button instead. I can see it being nice for buttonholes; you just position your fabric, push the "go" button, and it makes all the side of the buttonhole and stops automatically.

This machine trys to make things oops-proof. If you've ever jambed your machine because you started sewing with the presser foot up, well, that can't happen with this machine. If things aren't "right", it will give you an error beep.

Another nice feature is that the machine automatically sets an "ideal" stitch length/width. You can overide it but for the most part, the defalt is perfect, especially with the decorative stitches.

There are several decorative stiches; I haven't quite figured out the best way to put them to use but that's just my own lack of creativity.

One last nice feature is a built-in foot holder. In front of the free-arm is a flip-down compartment that has molded, labeled spots for all your feet. It comes with a standard foot, zipper foot, blind hem stitch foot, decorative stitching foot, overlock foot, button attacher foot, and buttonhole foot. Also in the compartment is a molded space for a seam ripper and 4 bobbins (included). I've found it nice to have all these feet in one spot. I have a couple specialty feet from my old Brother machine and they fit and work just fine on my new one. An added plus.

One note; this machine takes bobbins that are a bit thicker than older ones. Buy a bunch of new ones; they say old ones won't work.

All in all, I'm very happy. I'm glad I went with this model and would buy again.

***edited to add: my one gripe about this machine is that the built in lights are lacking. My old machine put out quite a lot of light; this one is MUCH dimmer.

Singer 7470 Confidence Electronic Sewing Machine

2009/12/19

Singer 7470 Confidence Electronic Sewing Machine Review

4.5 from 5

Let me start by saying that I had not sewed a stitch on a machine in almost 20 years. Then my daughter comes to me to say she is getting married and needs me to sew children's bridal dresses, wall panels, table runners, etc.
I didn't even own a sewing machine!
I fired up the computer and after a bit of research decided to give Singer 7470 Confidence Electronic Sewing Machine a try.
I was a nervous wreck when I sat down to try it out the day it came. BOY, was I surprised. It was so easy I was shocked.
The instruction manual is very well written. Self threading the machine turned out to be a breeze. Selecting the stitch was super simple.
I was particularly taken with the weight of the machine. Some have said it's a bit too heavy, but that is what I really liked. When you step on the gas the machine stays put instead of bouncing away from you like the light-weight machines tend to do.
In the end it took me less than two months to make two children's bridal gowns (with long trains,) 21-13'x4' wall panels (all edges hemmed,) and 8-9'x2.5' table runners (all edges hemmed.)
I would most definitely recommend this sewing machine to anyone as I totally love it.

Sewing Thread - Stitching It All Together

Hilo is a solid shot of two or more layers of wire chain used for hand and machine. Some facts about sewing thread:

The difference between thread and the thread of this thread used to sew clothing and other products, while weaving thread is a collection of fibers, fabrics and textiles. All threads are made of wool, yarn, but not the strings.
The first is the "thread" used in sewing, tendons was made from animal and plant speciesFibers.
There are three types of thread, animal, vegetable or synthetic, on the basis of the materials they were made.
Silk is an example of thread made of animal products. The silkworm spins a cocoon of silk, are produced there. These buds were broken, and two or more strands are twisted to form a thread. The silk is very thin, flexible and strong thread.
Cotton is an example of plant fibers used to make yarn. The cotton fibers are spun in afine yarn, two or more strands of yarn twisted to make the thread. Cotton tends not to shrink and is not as strong as silk thread. The thread is burned over an open flame and mercerized (soaked in a sodium hydroxide solution) to improve its strength and glory.
Nylon and polyester are examples of synthetic materials.
Ninety percent of all items of all kinds are produced in industrial sewing and commercial use.
TheDevelopment of the cotton spinning industry in England was the result of a blockade during the Napoleonic wars in the early 19th century. This raw silk prevented from entering the country, so that could not be a thread for sewing. Patrick Clark invented a method of twisting together to make cotton sewing thread.
The original thread was not enough rope Clark to be in the new fangled sewing machine after the 19th century to use. George Clark, aGrandchildren Patrick, developed by six braided yarn properties are required to be used in sewing machines.

Brother LS2125I 10-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Automatic 4-Step Buttonholer Review

4.0 from 5

When I bought this I had read a bunch of different reviews for it and wasn't sure. But it fit into my budget and I needed to make my bolero for my wedding. I have hardly any sewing experience but I wanted to make my bolero, you can say I was determined. I made my bolero, successfully, and it's awesome! The machine was easy to work with and is a good mid grade machine. The only downfall I had was that it did not come with an instruction manual or warranty booklet or anything. I had to look on you tube to make sure I was threading it correctly and everything. The needle also came broken but it was okay because it included 3-4 spares in the right sizes. It came with all the small accessories expected, power cord, and peddle. That's it. Good product, hasn't failed me yet.

Make simple valance curtains for all windows

2009/12/11

Image : http://www.flickr.com

For a quick game of curtains and a valance is something you can do, even if you do not have much experience in sewing. It's just a matter of figuring out the process and the calculation of the necessary materials and know how a machine sewing use.

Tools needed: calculator, pencil and paper, tape measure, yard stick, pins, scissors, iron, thread and sewing machines.

Decide what color or pattern that works best with the decor of your room now. Go toweb store is always one of my most fun day I open my imagination and obtain samples of tissue (and prices) the first time to see what my options are retained. Take samples home and begin to remove the following much of the already decorated room (couch, chairs, tables, walls, etc.). Once you have decided on your fabric start measuring.

To measure the material to decide how long is the border. Where are the curtains in the window? Will it make café style or half of the window? Maybe you just want a little space between the valance and curtain, use your imagination, draw a sketch of the window and get some places to see what looks good.

If you (to make these decisions, actions in the benchmark over the top of the window, the top of the bar) to where the valance to end. Add (in addition to the 7 "for the top and bottom of the 3 will be" for top hem, the staff and go through 4 "HEM). Suppose you want your valance to 10 long, add 7 "for the federal government and is 17". Now as its backdrop. The same applies here, measured from the upper reference point (where your curtains will start) to just under or below or above the threshold. Add the 7 "to this length. Example: 32" will be down curtain track 7 "= 39". Write everything down. Molding for the measurement of width in a window from outside to outside. Depending on the "full" you want the curtains, will be the deciding factor in the amount of material you buy. The normal fullness recommendation would be twice the width of the window, or at least half again the same. We become the "base", say a normal window is 36 "X 60" long. This means that we must not forget to calculate double the width of the valance and curtains, but the curtains are split in half. Most of the material will run 36 "- 44" (regular material) to 60 "(fabrics and upholstery material) in width. IfYou choose the fabric width 36 "- 44", will be easier to get just doubled the width. If there is a wide cut a little of the ends if necessary.

Now it's time to go to get your material! Take your Swatch, sketches and measurements with you! I would recommend a fabric that is easily shaped, with (cotton, linen, work, etc..) Is that store their materials, sales staff help you calculate the amount, and provide all the details, especially if a design in some ways hasor take a nap. If in most cases, 3-3 ½ m more than enough for each window.

Pre-wash the material if desired. Please pre-wash material and wash the curtains later expecting to have the same length, you will be amazed! If you've already washed the material out of the dryer, fold in half, inside out (if I may say), as from the camp of the screw, and place it on the surface and smooth out (, table land, etc. .) Do the same for all widths of material; This makes it easier to handle. You can contact with iron.

Time to mark the fabric and cut! The material is created now () not too many wrinkles. You should get a straight line on the top of the scale. Make a straight line with a pencil at the top (darker when the material is the source for work or even chalk if any). Eyeball to ensure that, is even sometimes the chemical is not cut so it is up to you. This will be your starting referencePoint (this is a cut-off) for you. Get estimates for the length of each: valance and curtain. Now far from the straight line down for valance length needed, twice, because it must be of fullness (unless 60 "width fabric) doubled. Make a mark. Repeat the process on the half-folded edge. Now put in your opinion from brand to brand and draw a line (this is also a section line). Do the same for curtains. Each curtain side gets its own track(unless) 60 "wide fabric. Take a couple of pins and pin just inside the edges and lines in each section highlighted. Cut along the lines. It must cut 4 pieces, 2 for the valance and 2 for each curtain on this side.

Mark again, this time on the right side of the fabric. Open your pieces right side of the material on, put them straight, make a pencil, lightly mark 3 "from bottom to the top of each piece, make several marks. Pattern to use to connect to a brandstraight line. Do the same at the bottom, 4 "above the straight edge. Mark 1" on both side edges of each piece. Select all parts. Ensure that all brands are easy to put on the outside of the fabric, but dark enough for viewing. Volant sewing together two pieces, making it one long piece. Press seam flat. Times in the side edges of all pieces turning under ½ "twice (is 1" all together, pencil line should be at the outer edges), press and Stitch along the inside edge of folding. Click to hemresources within all selected rows. Fold low and medium width and press again. Stitch along that folded edge on the inside. Tissue Holding, as you probably are not stitch material stack. You must have a 2 "edge of each piece and a 1 ½" for top border pact must curtain rods with the blade. Make sure when you begin stitching, embroidery and sewing step to go.

Viola, there you have it! This procedure should only be about 1 ½Hrs. Insert the rod through the top station of the curtains. Placement of valance and curtains.

Brother XL2600I 25-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine with Multiple Stitch Functions Review

4.0 from 5

After much research and absolutly no experience with sewing I purchased this machine and borrowed a couple of boos from the library: The Everything Sewing Book and Sewing for Dummies. Between the manual and the two books I was completly prepared to make pajama bottoms for the entire family for Christmas. I started with making a pair for myself and being OK with any mistakes and moved on to making the rest with confidence. The only reason I gave the ahine 4 instead of 5 stars is I can not figure out how to use the button hole maker. I spent a good hour reading and re-reading the instructions and doing everything as told and I ended up free styling it with the zig zag stitch. I don't feel too bad about it though because my grnadmother whos being sewing for 50 years can't do it either!

Brother SE350 Computerized Embroidery-and-Sewing Machine

2009/12/07

Brother SE350 Computerized Embroidery-and-Sewing Machine Review

4.5 from 5

I have three other sewing machines, but wanted to get a machine that embroiders. Something with all the basic sewing stitches so I don't need to switch back & forth. I did a lot of research and was leaning towards Singer because of an infomercial (Futura or the SES1000), but since I already have two Brother machines that are great workhorses, I went with the SE350.
RECOMMENDATION: When you get your machine, spend a couple hours reading the manual, watching the DVD, trying the different stitch options, do some test embroidery, etc. Even though I have Brother machines, this one threads a bit differently and I could see someone who tries to plug & go getting frustrated.
I love the bells & whistles that are new to me because I've been using a 29 year old machine until now. The auto thread cutter is great (press a button and it cuts the thread when you're done sewing). The start/stop button was a breeze to learn (no need to use a foot pedal, although one is included if you want to). The LCD touch screen is WONDERFUL. No more messing with stitch width/length dials to figure out the best stitch. This machine has them programmed in and you only need to make changes if you want to tweak something. Embroidery is surprisingly easy. Just be sure to use stabilizer and good thread.
I bought mine on Overstock - they have them refurbished for 9, with the same warranty, and shipping is only .95 (but you can sometimes get a free shipping coupon off the internet). With the money I saved, I'm buying the PED Basic software from Amazon that will let me download more embroidery designs.
All in all, this is a great machine and I'm looking forward to creating lots of beautiful new projects.

Janome 8077 Computerized Sewing Machine

Janome 8077 Computerized Sewing Machine Review

5.0 from 5

I purchased this sewing machine as a gift for my grand-children. When it arrived, I checked it out to make sure it worked well and was a good machine for them. I read the manual to learn about its' features and made all the stitches on a scrap of material. The machine is quiet, runs smoothly and makes beautiful stitches, plus it is lightweight and easy to transport.

I was so thrilled that I kept raving, to my husband, about what a great little machine it is. In fact, I liked it so much, I decided to keep it for myself and I had to order another one for my grandchildren.

This machine is way better than many machines that cost much more. I already have a Bernina (expensive) and a Singer Featherweight but I fell in love with this sewing machine. I would recommend it to anyone and, in fact, I did. I told two my friends about it and they each bought one.

Review Sewing Machine - Husqvarna, Juki, Bernina, Janome

2009/12/05

When it comes to respectable reviews sewing machine, Husqvarna is a name often mentioned. Built with precision and automation in mind, the Husqvarna Viking Designer SE is one of the most modern sewing machines are available. Numerous positive reviews are really nothing more than the company received some of the positive attention they are used for these outstanding products of the second. For comparison, you can get up against a Husqvarna Designer SEsomething like a Juki TL-98Q, and see how well you know, it conducts.

Owner of a Husqvarna Designer SE is quick to point out its many functions. They report that embroidery has never been easier than with a Husqvarna, even when using names such as Juki and Janome. The Janome MC9000 sewing machine is simple as the sewing machine on a striking union leaders like the Husqvarna Viking Designer SE Deluxe expelled. Making comparisons is still easilydifficult because there really is no sewing machines many out there with all the features that a designer of luxury.

Husqvarna Designer is beating strong competition. Offers a variety of work space for quilting, and their designs can sew well. Another brand that makes an interesting comparison, the Bernina 730E embroidery machine. For creativity and design capabilities, the two machinesvery close, but most reports suggest that even that competition is ultimately the Husqvarna is granted. Speed and accuracy are well mixed with a powerful onboard computer, and a method to easily transfer data to and from your PC.

Most sewing machines reviews are from people who regularly work in the field of writing and have a special background that makes them subject to the renowned. In many cases, the opinions of consumers are directly related to the product, allowing, like other owners, for example, is seeing a Husqvarna Designer SE, I feel, and how well the machine works for them.

Now it is fair to say that the Juki TL-98Q, the Bernina 730E and the Janome MC9000 embroidery machine are just some of the many strong competitors in the market. However, these models offer a nice comparison notable sewing machine, how a computer controlled as Husqvarna Designer SE stack against them. Elnaand the brother of two more sewing machines, the great reputation and is a short note to do if compared to the pure design genius of this wonderful machine.
